The 250th Anniversary of the Invention of modern Circus is celebrated during 2018.
On 9th January 1768, Philip Astley, an entrepreneur, showman and horseman, set out the first ever circus ring, near to Waterloo in London, and presented an array of Acrobats, Strongmen, Jugglers, Clowns and skilled Horse Riders. He also created the standard 42 ft Circus Ring, which remains to this day.
Since the British invention of the Circus, it has developed into many forms, traditional, modern, theatrical and developmental shows. It is a mobile and ever-changing art form, coming from a common beginning and truly offering something for everyone! Sit back and enjoy our Spectacular 2018 presentation!
